Design Documents

I found this reading very helpful for our second assignment. I had logical ideas about what a design document for a videogame should be, and thus what should be preparing for our proposal, but this documents lays it out plainly. Obviously there must be other ideas about how best to create a design document - I wonder if I can find any in the next few days - but this is a very good start.I was surprised how much the product overview had to be a selling point. It made it sound like as if the designers would only have that chance to defend their work.  I enjoyed the example of using an avatar any gender can project onto to make  a game more gender friendly. It is a very good idea and I will have to remember it in the future. I wish I had the rest of the book though; the writer mentions how a life system is not appealing to female gamers and I was curious how she had come to that conclusion.
